Life is Getting Busier Each Day

Hello folks! I am back here! How are you doing out there? How was the first months of 2016? I hope everything is doing great to all of  you! I can't complain at the moment. There are ups and downs but I am very sure, these are parts of our lives here on earth. The most important thing is, we are happy living the lives that we always wanted.

There are so many things I wish to share but sometimes time is always limited.  Since I started working full time almost two years ago,  blogging especially updating my blogs and other online activities are getting limited.  My other  offline jobs like home chores, garden work and other errands also add to the reasons why I can no longer stay the whole day in front of my laptop.  Unlike before being a full time blogger, I am always on the go and can work anytime and anywhere as long as there is internet connection and I bring with me my home office. I miss that  semi-nomadic life.

Saturday

Earning Money is not Easy at All

Hello folks! How's the month  of August treating you? So far so good for me! There is only one thing I need, I must go on vacation or I would say,  I need to travel so soon!  I cannot wait for the next trip to come. Around one and a half months more to go and  miss wanderlust  is ready to hit the road again.

I am quite tired today. I don't know for some reasons. I guess, it is because I have to work this weekend.  I don't really like the idea of working on a weekend but I have too.  I can still remember my first days and weeks at work. I cannot believed that I was able to adjust with many things. I reminds me of an online blogger friend who told me that I need to have a pragmatic approach with my job.  Now, I agree he is right.

Wednesday

And This is My Day-Off from Work

Today is my day-off from work. I  would love to stay on bed and sleep longer since the weather is quite cold and it is really nice just to stay in bed. The past few days, we were still turning on the heater some hours in the afternoon until evening because  the temperature inside the house drops to 18 degree Celsius if the heater is  off the whole day.

This morning, I already woke-up at 7:30. I would love to wake-up at  around 9:00 AM but since I still have a lot of things to do, I have no choice but to get-off  from bed. I took my morning ceremony which is taking my favorite gingered-lemon flavored green tea. I paired it with toasted sliced bread. On top of  it is strawberry marmalade and the the other one is with German meat salad. After taking my breakfast, I went for  shower and made me ready to start all the errands for the  day.

First Week of 2013

Happy New Year everyone!  Holiday season is over but we can also make each day a season of  Christmas! Right folks? I hope that the first days of January 2013 went great with you all.  Not really perfect  for  me but so far I am doing good. It is just sad when we hear that somebody in the family is sick. I pray that everything will be fine soon.

My first weekend  went well. I had fun with friends especially when we attended a birthday party this weekend.  It was truly a birthday blast and I am so happy for our dear friend  Espie. I believed  it was a success and everyone was also happy and contented during the celebration.

Another week of the year is here. I am already starting to clean-up my Christmas decors. Today was quite a busy day. I started to put away most of the decors in our home. I am hoping to finish  it tomorrow because there are still other tasks and chores that are waiting for me the coming days. I want to pack up a balikbayan box  for sending in my home country. I want to start doing it when I am done  with the clean-up.

I guess that is all for now.  Take care everyone and stay healthy and happy! All the best  during this year, 2013! God bless us all!

Time To Celebrate Mother's Day!

It's time to celebrate and honor all Mothers around the world.
Mother's day celebration might differ  from  country to country
but it really doesn't matter what time it is celebrated.

I would like to greet especially my dearest beloved Mother.
Thanks a lot Mama for all the great things  you had done for us.
You are always the greatest and the best.
God bless you  always and all Mothers in this planet.

Happy Mother's Day to all Mother's Around the World!
Enjoy your Big Day!

"A mother is the truest friend we have,
when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us;
when adversity takes the place of prosperity;
when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us;
when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us,
and endeavor by her kind precepts
and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness,
and cause peace to return to our hearts."

Sunny Monday Update

It seems that I was quite away in this blog for sometime. Life is just busy for me the past days. It's just me anyway, a jobless woman but always have a lot of things that keep her busy. Thanks goodness that I finally have the time to peep here for awhile and give you a bit update. I am trying to ease my busyness before I will be away again.

Sov we are on the last Monday of February 2012. My happy hormones is starting to get active because the weather is getting better. We are currently having a bit sunshine. Outside temperature is still cold between 3-9 degrees Celsius. It is better than sub-zero at all like what we had during the first weeks of February.

I just got back from a bit grocery shopping. I just need to go to the next town to take care of some errands. I went to the bank also to send money to the Philippines. There are obligations to be paid like the taxes in our house and in our lot in Cebu. Some projects needs to be finished like the seawall in our house. I believed in two months or three, the main seawall will be done.

I guess that is all for now. I wish you a lovely week! Be safe!

Planning for Home Improvements

This is a continuous project until all the areas of our house that need repairs will be done. We have an old stone house and from time to time we are repairing it when finances are available. Here are some areas that need improvements and repairs.

Kitchen

I don't really complain about our old kitchen but it needs to be repaired soon. I am just happy that I can still cook there. We need a new kitchen unit because the one standing there really needs a new replacement. Our target for this is next year.

Dining Room

This is another area that needs a total repair. Its wooden floor needs to be replaced with tiles. Since the water pipe inside the house exploded in December 2006, everything in the first floor was flooded. We already changed the floor in our hallway but the ones in the kitchen and dining room need new floors also. We decided to replace it it tile flooring.

After it will be repaired, I am planning to buy a new dining table and chairs and maybe a kitchen dresser or sideboard.

Bathroom

We have a shower and a toilet downstairs for visitors. On the second floor of the house, we also have a bathroom with toilet and bathtub but it needs full renovation. It simply means that we need a new tilt and turn window, bathroom set, new floor and the walls needs to be replaced with tiles.

our little home in the Philippines that still needs more improvements.

We are having some home improvements at the moment. Our garden terrace and garage are still under construction. Back home in the Philippines, we are also finishing the seawall and terrace that is facing the sea. All these projects require money and effort. That is also the reason why we are doing it from time to time when finances are available. Me and hubby are quite happy and contented of our little investment.

I Miss Home!

Some friends and "kababayans" (fellowmen) whom I met last year in Frankfurt, Germany once asked me if I am still going home. I immediately answered, "Yes I am when I retire." I always believed in the saying, "there is no place like home." Wherever I go for a trip or vacation in other places and seeing how beautiful it is, I am still thinking of home. Even I found a new home in Europe, Philippines is still and will always be my home.

Thanks to the images that my brothers and sisters always sent me. I always see home even just in pictures.
the terrace in our house located near the beach in the Philippines. I hope this will be finished soon.

Five Ideas To Design Your Garden

I know there are a lot of people out there who love gardening. Some might not be experts on how to design a garden (just like me) or doing some landscapes. Thanks to the garden designs and ideas from Lovereading.co.uk. Here are some of the design inspirations for all of us.

1) Water Features

Water fountains, either simple or elaborate can bring lusciousness to your garden. In conjunction with fauna in a secluded part of garden you can have a peaceful area that is calming to look at. Even the simple feature of adding a bird bath can give many moments of enjoyment by watching birds flock to it to bathe.

some of the flowers in our garden..its highlight is the castle tower that is very near to our garden.

2) Tiered gardens

Bringing levels to your garden adds a complexity and can draw the eye to many different focal points. Planter and gardening boxes can be hung or arranged strategically throughout and is perfect if you would like to have more mobility in designing the grounds.

3) Sculpture

Adding a piece of sculpture here and there in your garden is a great way to accent a plain area into something more. Garden gnomes aside, there are many stone masons who craft beautiful and long lasting images, they can range from modern and contemporary garden ornament pieces to more traditional and Neo-classical designs of varying sizes.

4) Inspired Moments from Traveling

If you're an avid traveler or had a grand experience visiting part of the world, why not have your garden reflect the sights of what you've seen? Perhaps bring a bit of a specific culture into your backyard as a means to remember fond moments in your travels? Gerniums reminiscent of Italy, a Buda from Asia, even if you haven't traveled there, you can capture the feelings and images that are very familiar of that part of the world.

the red dahlia flowers and our garden set. we are planning to get a new one next time.

5) Fauna and Flora

With the simple addition of adding fauna and flora to your garden, you can completely change the look of your garden into something spectacular. Going for a lush look? If you have a shady garden to begin with, adding some ferns or ornamental grasses is a wonderful way to beautify your garden. With just the right colors of flowers in full bloom you can have an eye catching array of flora. Keep in mind leaves of plants can always add a bit of zeal to a listless garden depending on type when flowers are not in bloom.

For those who have children and have a huge garden space, you can also add wooden swings for your children to play and enjoy. I would love to have one but our garden is not so big.

My World in Siegestor or Victory gate in Munich, Germany

I had seen this architecture for some times already. The Siegestor or Victory Gate in Munich is a three-arched triumphal arch crowned with a statue of Bavaria with a lion-quadriga, similar in style to the Arch of Constantine in Rome, the Marble Arch in London, the Arc de Triomphe in Paris and the Brandenburger Tor in Berlin. It is located between the Ludwig Maximilian University and the Ohmstraße, on the intersection of the Leopoldstrasse and the Ludwigstrasse.

Here is the picture I took last November 2009.

Feel free to visit Wordless Wednesday and World Tuesday to join and see more photos! Have a great one especially to all participants of these memes!
HISTORY

The gate was commissioned by King Ludwig I of Bavaria, designed by Friedrich von Gärtner and completed by Eduard Mezger in 1852. The quadriga was created by Martin von Wagner. The gate was originally dedicated to the glory of the Bavarian army (dem bayerischen Heere zum Ruhme). Today the Siegestor is a monument and reminder to peace. After sustaining heavy damage in World War II, the gate was - similar to the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche in Berlin - reconstructed and restored only partially. The inscription on the back side is by Wilhelm Hausenstein and reads Dem Sieg geweiht, vom Krieg zerstört, zum Frieden mahnend, which translates as "Dedicated to victory, destroyed by war, reminding of peace". In the last couple of years, the statues that remained were meticulously cleaned and restored. The Siegestor is 21 meters high, 24 Meters wide, and 12 meters deep. wikipedia

Primrose, Saintpaulien Flowers

Hello everyone! How is your Sunday? I hope you are having a wonderful one. I am writing this quick post to share a picture of Primrose or Saintpaulien or Saintpaulia flowers as it is called in German. here are the beautiful pictures of primroses. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Primrose plants are easy to grow. They prefer cool weather, and full to partial sun. Soil conditions vary from rich loam to average soils, depending upon the variety. Mix in plenty of leaf mold prior to planting. Add leaf mold, if available, each year as a mulch, and to fertilize the plants. Drought tolerant varieties are very popular as ground cover in dry areas.

When I live near place, I would probably go walking here everyday. The entrance here is free and you are allowed to take pictures too. This is one of the pictures I took from the garden.

It's been almost three weeks now since my long vacation in the Philippines is over. That was truly a very memorable moment spending time with my family and loved ones. Perfect timing because I found a collage studio called Picjoke.com. It is very easy to upload pictures here and turn it into exciting effects.
